finding self

M: I’m starting to really enjoy being alone. It's sometimes hard to find something, but I’m starting to get better and better. Off course it's nice to hang around with people but I thought I was going to feel lonely.

R: Travel alone is good to help us find ourselves. Our real selves. Ok, now I'm about to overanalyze. Stop me. Please. Haha 

M: No that's very true that’s not over-analyzing. 

R: But I'm about to analyze more if nobody stop me. 

M: I ain't stopping ya. 

R: So, did you find yourself already? 

M: I don't know if I will find myself. That's like the end of travelling or something. Or like your life is complete or almost done. Did u? 

R: That's a bit tricky, finding self I mean. How do you know whether you already find your real self or not? If one keeps on changing, than you will never find the real self. Because you live with it. With the transformation of yourself. 

M: True and I think you constantly change. Especially when you are travelling alone, or read, or study, or communicate with others. 

R: That's it. So you'll never find yourself. Or at least not your final self. 

M: I hope not. I think the journey is more fun than finding yourself. 

R: For final self only well assembled when you're not changing anymore, but if we live, we will keep on changing. 

M: When u die maybe. 

R: You read my mind. 

M: And finding yourself is so vague. I think it's more like setting principles or what are your own morals. And I don't have that at all. 

R: Finding self is overrated. 

M: True that. I would drink to that! But it's too expensive. 

R: Sometimes something is made not to be discussed, but to enjoyed.

Seminggu tanpa sabun dan sampo

Hari ini menandai tepat seminggu percobaan mandi tanpa sabun dan keramas tanpa sampo. Awalnya saya pikir ide ini biasa saja. Toh manusia sebelum kenal sampo dan sabun juga hanya mandi dengan air mengalir. Apalagi, sudah banyak juga ornag lain melakukan percobaan yang sama. Namun, ketika saya bercerita kepada teman kantor bahwa sudah hampir seminggu saya tidak menggunakan sabun, reaksi mereka sungguh mengagetkan. Menurut mereka, ini adalah percobaan yang aneh. Sebab itu, saya jadi ingin membagikan pengalaman ini. Kenapa awalnya saya terpikir untuk melakukan percobaan ini? Karena kulit saya sangat sensitif. Kulit wajah sih biasa saja. Tapi kulit tubuh sangat sensitif terhadap sabun mandi. Sabun biasa membuat kulit sangat kering, rasanya seperti retak-retak, dan kadang terasa panas karena iritasi. Let’s talk about casual internalized racism in this island

It was a sun shiny morning with a blue sky by the beach. A girl friend and I went to one of the beach club for the Sunday market. I always curious about this Sunday market, and the foods. So we drove there with a happy mood, giggling and laughing while driving. The premise didn’t provide enough sitting area, so I had half of my paella standing before randomly sat on the floor behind one of the counters. We finally found an empty table as we ordered oysters and two glasses of sparkling wine. A friend and I just finishing our fresh oysters and decided that the table was too exposed to the sun.
