It was a sun shiny morning with a blue sky by the beach. A girl friend and I went to one of the beach club for the Sunday market. I always curious about this Sunday market, and the foods. So we drove there with a happy mood, giggling and laughing while driving. The premise didn’t provide enough sitting area, so I had half of my paella standing before randomly sat on the floor behind one of the counters. We finally found an empty table as we ordered oysters and two glasses of sparkling wine. A friend and I just finishing our fresh oysters and decided that the table was too exposed to the sun. If there is one opportunity that Indonesia’s government has neglected for decades in achieving our climate commitment, it is its huge potential of the biggest Islamic population in the world. As the world’s religious leaders make a pre-Cop 26 appeal, Indonesian Muslims had the opportunity to play a critical role in the global fight against the climate crisis. Unlike in other countries where religious conservatism often distances itself from climate issues or even closely identifies itself with climate denialism, there is no close connection between conservatism and the anti-climate movement in Indonesia.
